On July 2, 2011, my dad, Kevin Scott, went into Edmond OU Hospital ER with headaches, nausea, and chills. A cat scan reviled a brain tumor. They sent him home and were planning on doing a full body scan on Tuesday. Late on July 3rd he was brought back to the ER due to being dehydrated. He is now being sent downtown. Hopefully the testing and scans can be sooner now. We are praying for a miracle and Gods healing hands to take away this tumor. We don't know everything right now but we will keep everyone up to date on what's going on. We love you dad.
Aaron,
ReplyDeleteThanks for setting up this site. We will be earnestly praying. Your dad is a strong and faithful believer. He knows the Lord will be with him in this trying time. Love you guys.
Matt and Heather McReynolds
Dad is heading in for a MRI right now. Doc says there could be a chance of it not being a tumor.
ReplyDeleteI will keep him and your family in prayer. He is one of the kindest men I've known, and your family has done so much for so many. God bless you all. Elaine McIntyre
ReplyDeleteThinking and praying for you all and especially Kevin today. We love you Scott Family!

Still no new news with the MRI. We are expecting the results tomorrow as well as a full CT scan. Hopefully we can get a diagnosis tomorrow. Will keep you posted.
ReplyDeleteAaron, thanks so much for the updates. Your whole family is so dear to us.
ReplyDeleteWe have everyone we know praying for your dad. We won't stop until your dad is healed and home. Please give your mom a huge hug for us. Love,
Dave and Susan McReynolds
No news yet. Kevin is getting a bone scan and then a full CT scan right now. We still do not have the results from the MRI. Not very confident of OU Medical so just continue to pray for healing but also that we will have physicians that are competent.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting. Based on radiology's opinion, the tumor in the brain does not appear to have originated there but somewhere else in the body. Nothing else has been found and hopefully it stays that way. Hopefully the answers will come soon.
ReplyDeletePositive news this morning. No other tumors found based on the preliminary reports of all the scans done. He will be getting a PET scan later today. Thanks for all the love and support. Keep the prayers comming.
ReplyDeleteso glad we have found out about this! will be praying for a quick diagnosis & treatment!
ReplyDeletewe love you guys!
Well, the not so good news turned into not so good news. We got conflicting reports from interns today. One came in this morning and said he saw no other tumors in the rest of the body but later another one came in and said it appears there is a tumor also in the lungs. We have not received any solid diagnosis yet. Not sure what's next.
ReplyDeleteDad will be getting out of OU hospital today. It has been a nightmare there! We never once got any news about what is going on with him there, but we did get news from an outside doctor who looked at all his reports from the CT, MRI, and Bone Scan and we are sad to say that he does have a tumor in his upper left lobe lung. We will be moving him to Integris today, where Ryan works and is a better hospital for his diagnosis over all. Please please please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We will not give up hope and by the grace of God he will be healed.
ReplyDeletePraying, praying, praying.
ReplyDeleteLuke 1:37 (Amplified Bible)
"For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment."
Update: So we are getting out of OU FINALLY!!! Onto Baptist Integris. Big thank you to Dr. Chapman and Dr. Ryan Scott!!! We do have some new news though, the PET shows another tumor in his right leg that has the same charateristics as the one in his brain, so they will be doing a biopsy on the leg one to find more info out. Keep praying!
ReplyDeleteKEVIN IS OFFICIALLY IN GREAT CARE AND ALL CHECKED IN AT INTEGRIS BAPTIST! We have seen the Oncologist and he has lifted us all up with great hope that this is something we can figure out and find treatment for. Literally 5 minutes after getting into our room he came in and sat with the family for 30 minutes, checking out every aspect of Dad. He looked at him from head to toe. Tomorrow Dad will go in for a CT/Biopsy of the leg and we will go from there. We will keep you all updated! We all feel so much better being here and feel like this is going to go a lot smoother. God works in amazing ways so please keep praying! All of our spirits have been uplifted and we feel so blessed that Kevin is in the hands of the best doctors but most importantly in the hands of our savior! Thank you all so much!
ReplyDeleteWe are currently in search of the best neurosurgeon, Dr. Giester the oncologist is saying that Dad has to get the tumor in his head taken out and biopsied. All the other tumors are to small to take out so they have to go straight to the problem area. Please keep praying that God will put Dad in the best hand possible and also pray for Pam for comfort that this is the right decision, and that God is watching over him.
ReplyDeleteThe date is set; Kevin will be going into surgery to remove the tumor in his head this coming Wednesday the 13th. His doctor is Dr. Kevin Kelly. Dad gets to be home until wednesday, which is so nice. I brought them over dinner tonight and had a very heartfelt conversation with them. I personally havent had much alone time with them since this all happened and I had so much I wanted to say before surgery day. Im not sure about you, but I know that I keep my feelings in, this whole experience is changing that. You all may not know too much about my family past, but growing up I always prayed for a great family and that is all I ever wanted. The day Aaron and I got married I married into the family I had prayed for growing up. They have shown me an unconditional love and have supported me through every choice I have made as a wife and a mother. So as you are praying for Kevin and Pam tonight, think of the amazing gifts they have been in your lives as well. And ask God to walk closely with them through this journey, healing Kevin from head to toe.
ReplyDeleteKeep praying!
Scott family: Emily, our kids and I will be praying for the upcoming surgery and for Kevin's total recovery! I have been so blessed personally by every member of your family and love you all so much. May the comfort of Christ be with you in this dark time.
ReplyDeleteso glad that kevin can be home for a few days before the surgery, will be praying for a successful surgery, and know that we are praying for peace comfort from our Lord Jesus for all the scotts! we love you all!
ReplyDeleteThe Garriott's in DC and Maryland are praying for you Kevin, Pam and family. We love you.
ReplyDeleteUpdate: Dad mad it through his surgery and is responding well already. The neurosurgeon is confident that he was able to get the entire tumor in his brain. His guess was that its melanoma that has spread to his brain, but we wont know for sure until it comes back from pathology. We will let you all know what the next step of treatment is. Thank you for all your love, support and most of all prayers. Thank you for all for supporting Pam through this journey as well. I know she has been touched by so many of you!.
ReplyDeleteWe will update you more tomorrow once Kevin is not so loopy.
Oh yeah!!! All the boys, Aaron, Kasey, Ryan, Cole and Caleb shaved their heads today to match Kevin. I know he will find that funny. I am so excited to see his smile tomorrow!
Praise God for a successful operation! -Emily Ford Clark
ReplyDeleteso glad to hear the surgery went well, will continue to pray! we love you scotts! thats funny about the boys shaving their heads!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear the surgery was successful. Give Kevin our best. We'd love to see a photo of all of those shaved heads!

Well, the surgery appears to have been a success and hopefully dad will be coming home tomorrow as long as his blood pressure gets back to normal. He had a CT scan this morning that showed no signs of the second tumor that they saw from the first CT scan a couple of weeks ago (so thats good news). The biopsy results of the brain tumor also came back today positive for melanoma. Not too sure what will happen next but I know they are going to find the primary and proceed with chemotherapy or radiation. Continue to pray for Kevin as we continue to battle this disease. Thanks again to everyone for your love and support and we will keep you posted on what will happen next.
ReplyDeletewill be praying for the Lord to give the drs wisdom in treating kevin, so thankful that they got the tumor removed
